The ‘River-End * (not ‘Reverend*) JordanAn Original Poem Read by Sarah Dowell at the Great Smoky Mountain Grace Bible Conference Long ago in a remote location Dad heard a preacher on a radio station. His voice was (still) Southern, his manner - gruff, His message was simple, "The CROSS was enough!" We listened intently each passing week,
But the scriptures proved differently- ‘twas HE who was phony! We realized our choice - either speak up or hide After Mr. Jordan taught us to rightly divide. What would we do? Get thrown out or leave? We couldn*t be silent, we willed*t deceive. So after we left the denominational zone We studied at home, just on our own. We learned even more from reading his books, But when we told all our friends, we got dirty looks. Years later, we met Mr. Jordan in a far-away place, He was faithfully preaching the dispensation of grace. He wasn*t dressed fancy, he didn*t have flash, He gave away lots of tapes, and didn*t ask for cash. Mr. Jordan showed us the revelation of the mystery, His friendship is a special treasure to our family. Now our family has a heritage handed down, By Mr. Jordan*s example, Dad spread it all over town!
